Support Forest History Tours
Forest History Tours offers free History walks to everyone, helping people to understand more about the wonderful history in and around the Forest of Knaresborough. A history that goes back to the beginning of time. Our research touches on pre history, the Brigantes and Roman Empire, moving into the Anglo Saxon and the Norman occupation.
The Forest of Knaresborough was a royal hunting ground spanning about 45 square miles (120 km²). It stretched west and south of the town of Knaresborough, nestled between the River Nidd and the River Wharfe. Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, it is now situated in North Yorkshire.
For over six years, we have diligently researched and developed our website, dedicated to exploring and sharing our rich history. As we continue to expand, we invite your support in any capacity—whether by engaging with us on social media, participating in our initiatives, or contributing a donation, no matter the size. Our efforts aim to foster an appreciation for our collective history while establishing a vibrant hub for exploring our beautiful land. Thank you for your support, and we look forward to welcoming you on a walk through the magnificent Forest of Knaresborough.
